The Squadron has recently completed the first stages of its new Flight Simulator training aid. Using instruments provided by Simkits, we were able to use a real-life cockpit panel instead of the on-screen instruments in the Microsoft Flight Simulator.

| The panel has been designed as a training aid, allowing new cadets to experience flying the Grob Tutor aircraft early on in their ATC careers. It also allows us to teach Cadets what to expect from each of the instruments in a less involved environment; hopefully increasing their enjoyment when they get behind the real controls. |

This is not a cheap project and the Squadron has already invested a considerable amount of money in the hardware and software required. There is a long way to go before we have the finished instrument panel. We plan to add more instruments, control stick and rudder pedals as well as using a projector to display the 'outside world'.
