1104 have had a long interest in propulsion and engine design, following the syllabus of the Air Cadet Publication (ACP) required to pass the Senior Cadet award. For this reason, we began working with some donated engines to build trainign aids. These allowed the cadets to see first-hand how the engine really worked.

One of the engines - an old petrol lawnmower, was still serviceable and soon ideas started forming as to what we could do with it. The Kart project was born!
