Absolutely not! The ATC is a youth organisation like many others, but has close links with the Royal Air Force allowing us to take part in many activities not available to others. Many Cadets do go on to a career in the forces, but your experience whilst in the ATC prepares you just as well for a civilian career.
No. We charge a subscription of £2 per week. This covers fees the organisation has to pay. Some activities such as camping may mean you have to purchase extra equipment such as a sleeping bag, but activities such as Flying, Gliding and Shooting are generally free.

- Do I have to march everywhere?
Marching forms part of our important structure of discipline. It's not a huge part of what we do, but it is important nonetheless. Every year, we compete against other Squadrons in a drill competition and we aim to be the best! Also, it's a great way to move a Squadron around quickly and safely.
